Get involved with Springboard’s FutureChef

FutureChef, the Springboard Charity’s national culinary programme, which introduces young people aged 12 to 16 to the basic cooking skills they will need throughout their life, is urging teachers to get involved.

The scheme, through professional chef visits to schools, industry-backed learning resources called “Learning Bites”, and a range of career and skill development activities,. provides students across the UK with a first-class education on what it means to be a chef.

It includes a national competition, which challenges young people to battle it out to be crowned the nation’s top young chef.

FutureChef also forges links between schools and hospitality businesses, which gives students a greater range of options when they leave school.

FutureChef also:

Directly supports the food curriculum

Offers interactive classroom resources

Nurtures industry links

Teaches life skills and builds confidence

Promotes healthy eating and nutrition

Schools can register at FutureChef. It’s free!
