Important: Personal Licence Renewal

Important: personal licence renewal

The Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005 came into full effect in September 2009. As such, personal licence holders (PLH) who first obtained their licence at the introduction of the existing regime will need to renew their personal licence for the first time. Although they have from August 31 to May 31, 2019 to do so, it is strongly recommended that they undergo training and then renew their licence as soon as possible.

Personal licence holders must:

Undergo refresher training every five years to refresh their knowledge of the licensing regime, and send the training certificate to the relevant Licensing Board

Apply to renew their personal licence every 10 years, and lodge the renewal application no later than three months before expiry date of the licence – click here to find out more.
