Radisson RED Glasgow set to open in April

Glasgow’s new 174-bedroom Radisson RED hotel is on track to open in April 2018.

The £30 million hotel, owned by Forrest Hotels, will be first newbuild hotel in Europe to be run by Carlson Rezidor, parent company of the Radisson group.

Situated on the River Clyde, near the SECC, Clyde Auditorium and The SSE Hydro, the 10-storey hotel will boast a rooftop sky bar and function room with views across the city plus a restaurant, 24-7 deli, gym and events space on the ground floor, and free high-speed WiFi throughout.

The hotel’s exterior will appear to change colour in reaction to natural light and feature two digital screens promoting events at the local venues.

Radisson RED is described as “a new hotel philosophy that connects with an ageless millennial mindset through art, music and fashion”.

Guests won’t find any beige in the hotel either. Instead, it will feature versatile, contemporary spaces with works by award-winning Glasgow-based comic book artist Frank Quitely.
