New rateable values for non-domestic properties in Scotland will come into effect from 1 April 2026, which will determine how much tax businesses pay on their properties. Many businesses are reporting tax rises which are too extreme to cope with.
The Scottish Conservatives are demanding that the SNP pause the rates revaluation and go back to the drawing board so that businesses are not hit with unsustainable tax rises.
