Michael Kinnaird is the proud owner of Bugsy Browns in Aberdeen. Michael first became involved in the hospitality industry as a DJ back in the 1980’s and he opened Bugsy Browns in 1989.  Mike is an Aberdonian born and bred. He has seen the impact the Oil Industry has had on the city and how this has transformed Aberdeen and changed the image of Hospitality in the city.

Mike has been involved with the SLTA for Aberdeen City and Shire for several years. He is a passionate advocate for the hospitality industry and has seen the challenges that the industry faces first hand.  Michael is a great believer that hospitality venues are not just a place to get food and drink. He sees them as integral to the fabric of our communities.  Making them places where people come together to celebrate, to debate, to connect and to feel human. In an increasingly digital world this has become ever more important. Those working in the industry have to wear multiple hats including; bartenders, hosts, storytellers, entertainers, social media influencers, confidantes, community workers as well as custodians of tradition.

As the new President of the Scottish Licensed Trade Association Mike is dedicated to embracing innovation, bringing people together and building a sustainable future for this generation of operators and securing their legacy for the next generation of Hospitality operators.
