Best Bar None Glasgow Licensing Conference

Best Bar None Glasgow Licensing Conference

Licensed premises are being urged to sign up for this month’s Best Bar None Glasgow Licensing Conference.

The event, organised by Glasgow City Council, will feature keynote speakers, workshops, a marketplace event with an opportunity to sample goods, and a networking lunch offering attendees the chance to meet industry professionals, share information, and pick up hints and tips.

For Best Bar None Glasgow members, the cost to attend is £30 per delegate – for all other delegates the cost is £40.

A spokesperson said: “This year’s conference builds on the success of our 2017 event and will encourage delegates to share and promote good practice.

“Guest speakers will share experiences/expertise on the theme of past, present, and future with the conference providing an opportunity to reflect on the past and understand the differences/context in which licensed premises operated 10-20 years ago.

“It will also discuss the current challenges facing licensed premises and help delegates plan for the future to ensure we offer a variety of employment opportunities in the hospitality industry as well as a diverse choice of venues catering for a multi-cultural society.”

The spokesperson added: “As well as our guest speakers there will be an opportunity to attend your choice of three workshops which will include licensing updates, drug trends in the night-time economy, cyber threats and social media vulnerability, minimising risk and more.”

The event will take place in the Radisson Blu Hotel in Argyle Street on August 28 from 9.30am to 4pm.
